Brighton and Hove Albion F.C. History

Brighton and Hove Albion was founded in 1901. originally Named Brighton & Hove United but soon after that name was changed to its current name. They competed in Southern League which they won once in 1910 and also won the FA Charity Shield that same year.

When the Third Division was established in 1920 they were elected to become  a member of the  Football League. In the 1957-1958 season they won the Third Division earning promotion to the Second Division. The club would fall down to the Fourth Division in the 1960s.

Things improved during 1970s when the club were promoted to Second Division and in 1979 to the First Division. After a couple of demotions to the lower leagues in the 1990s they began to climb again and their first appearance in the top flight after the name change to Premier League happened after winning the Championship in 2017.

Gillingham for two years, 1997 1999

Withdean Stadium between 1999 and 2011.

Falmer Stadium was completed in 2011 and it has served as the home ground for the club since.
