Formed in 1882, Burnley became founder members of the Football League in 1888. They moved to Turf Moor in 1883 and have bee there throughout their entire league existence.Formed in 1882, Burnley became founder members of the Football League in 1888.

That campaign included a record 30-game unbeaten run that wasn?t surpassed in the top division until Arsenal?s Invincibles in 2003-04.

Masterminded by manager Harry Potts, Burnley won the league title again in 1959-60 earning the right to play in  the European Cup in 1961 where they reached the quarter-finals. Burnley won the FA Cup in 1914 when the beat Liverpool in the Final at Crystal Palace.Along with Wolverhampton Wanderers and Preston North End, they are one of three clubs to have won all four divisions of English football but they came within one game of losing their league status in 1987.

After a 33 year absence, the Clarets returned to the top tier in 2009 when they were promoted to the Premier League for the first time.
